Founded 1972. Origins: Budwood from historic pre-prohibition vineyards. Flavor Profile: Boysenberry, black raspberry, nutmeg and white pepper with balanced acidity. Appellation: Sonoma County, CA. Barrel Aging: 15 months in American, Hungarian & French oak. Viticultural Philosophy: Sustainably farmed to maximize biodiversity, vineyard longevity and superb wine quality. Family owned sustainably farmed since 1972. Heritage Vines Zinfandel is a passion project for our family winery and represents our dedication to what has become California's signature grape varietal. We began the development of heritage vines as an experimental project in the 1980s to preserve the tradition and heritage of historic, old vine Zinfandel vineyards. By grafting Budwood from century-old vines onto mew rootstock, we cultivated delicious, balanced Zinfandel fruit with the deep, brooding characteristics of heirloom vines. Blend: 81% Zinfandel, 19% Petite sirah. Vineyard location: Hillside & benchland. Soil: Clay loam. Origin: Historic old vines.Warnings
