Greaseless griddles have a smooth polished surface that keeps batter from sticking. Greasing is not necessary if medium or low heat is used and butter or salad oil is added to the batter. Heat the griddle until drops of cold-water dance in small beads on the surface. A wide spatula is the key to easy pancake turning. A 5-inch wide spatula works best.
Scrambled Eggs Tip
Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat with a wire whisk. Add salt, pepper and milk or water and continue to beat until uniformly yellow. For a delicious alternative, substitute undiluted evaporated milk for the milk (or water).
Some syrup bottles come with pour top lids, but it is more economical to purchase syrup by the gallon and pour into syrup dispensers. The dispensers can be washed in the dishwasher and used over and over. Individual foil-wrapped butter pats are a convenient and sanitary alternative to regular butter cubes. Any left over pats can be frozen for later use.
Cover the tables with white plastic tablecloths and put a bright colored placemat at each place setting. The mats will add color and cheer and make clean up easy. Plastic ware can be rolled in a bright colored napkin and wrapped with a rubber band or tied with a ribbon and laid at each place setting.
