Merchandising Manager
Job Description:
This Position reports to the Director of Value Merchandising, and is responsible for the consistent and timely implementation of company merchandising programs, and the maintenance of high standards of freshness/quality, in stock conditions and sanitation during all hours of operation. Will work closely with district and store management to insure compliance with all company initiatives, programs, and standards. Performance will be measured through financial reports including sales, gross margin, and shrink control, and through evaluation and maintenance of store standards.
Minimum requirements:
Applicants must have an Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with a concentration in Business, or five years related store operations experience, including two or more years in management positions at the Senior Assistant Manager level or equivalent experience.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Directs the Store Management team in the proper presentation of the grocery and perishable departments and makes adjustments as necessary due to merchandising calendar.
- Provides hands-on training for associates in areas such as; product display techniques, rotation , and order quantities.
- Assesses the condition of in-store displays and fixtures and if not up to company standards, will follow up with Merchandising Department to get appropriate display or fixture.
- Directs the overall set-up of the grocery and perishable departments and ensures adherence with company merchandising programs.
- Recommends appropriate store order quantities based upon the company’s marketing plan, seasonality, customer mix and historical store performance.
- Advises District and Store Management on the performance and training needs of associates, and recommends appropriate scheduling to provide optimum coverage.
- Provides regular updates to Director of Value Merchandising on store conditions, the effectiveness of training, and any additional training needed.
- Communicates regularly with District and Regional management and immediately if significant issues or unacceptable conditions are noted on store visits.
- Performance will be measured through financial reports including sales, gross margin, shrink control, and maintenance of standards.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong communication skills
